I was dead wrong about thermal paste replacement being a scam
For years I was the guy telling people to leave their factory thermal paste alone. Figured it was just another way for repair shops to make a quick $50 off nervous console owners. Then my OG PS4 started sounding like a dirtbike during loading screens. Finally caved and swapped the paste with some Arctic MX-4 last week. Dropped temps by 12 degrees and the fan barely spins now. I get it. Some of those older consoles are definitely worth the hassle if you've got 30 minutes and a screwdriver. Anyone else hold out on thermal paste changes way too long?
