My PS4 fan replacement turned into a two day nightmare
I thought swapping the fan would be a quick job, maybe an hour tops. After getting the old one out, I realized the new fan's cable was about an inch shorter than the original. I spent the next day trying to reroute cables around the power supply to get enough slack, which meant taking the whole console apart twice. Has anyone else had a replacement part not fit right and how did you fix it?

Yeah, that's the worst. Happened to me with a laptop battery cable once. You just assume the part is a direct match, but sometimes the specs are off by just enough to ruin your whole plan. I ended up having to carefully stretch the cable sheath and reroute it under a different board. It's always that one little thing that turns a simple fix into a huge project. Makes you want to just buy a whole new unit sometimes.
