My PS4 Slim had a bad power supply... I had to choose between a $30 used one or a $80 new part.

I went with the used part from a seller with good feedback, and it's been running fine for about two weeks now. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a used power supply fail on them after a while, or if I should have just spent the extra cash.

Man, that's a tough call... I've heard of used parts crapping out after a few months, but also some that last years. What's the seller's return window like, and did they say how old the part actually was? That's the real gamble... a part from a console that barely got used is way different than one that ran 24/7 for five years.

Yeah, @paigec14 is right about the gamble. I read a forum post where a guy bought a used power supply, and the seller swore it was lightly used. It worked for two weeks then died and took the motherboard with it. The age and how hard it ran matters so much, but you just can't know for sure. A return policy is the only real safety net you get. Without that, you're basically hoping the previous owner was honest and lucky.
