Question about my PS3 that took forever to fix
I picked up a used PS3 from a garage sale for 20 bucks (1970s model, the fat one). It would turn on for 2 seconds then click and shut off. I spent 3 whole days swapping thermal paste and checking capacitors. Turned out it was just the power supply fan stuck with dust, cost me nothing but time. Has anyone else chased a simple problem like that for way too long?

Hold on, was it really that serious? Three days for a dust clog. I would've blown it out with canned air before even opening the case. You didn't think to check the fan first? I mean, a loud click usually means something's stuck, not a dead motherboard.

Three days and they didn't even try the $5 can of air first, classic.
