Rant: My neighbor said he fixed his PS5 with a hairdryer and a prayer
He was serious... told me he held a blow dryer on the HDMI port for 'about 20 minutes' while his wife said a Hail Mary. It actually worked, somehow. Has anyone else heard a repair method that made you just stop and stare?

Hairdryer and a prayer is wild but honestly the shoelace hinge repair is the kind of energy I respect. Sometimes you just gotta MacGyver something and hope for the best even if it fails spectacularly. The fact he committed to 20 minutes of hot air while his wife prayed is dedication I can't even hate on. At least they tried something instead of just giving up or paying for a repair. That HDMI port probably just had a cold solder joint that reflowed from the heat makes sense in a sketchy way.

The "hail mary" part got me. I once tried to fix a broken laptop hinge with a glue gun and a shoelace. It held for a week, then the screen just flopped over like a dead fish. Sometimes you just have to commit to the bad idea and hope.
