Ripped a capacitor off my PS4 motherboard by accident
I was trying to replace the HDMI port on my PS4 last night and my iron slipped, knocking off a tiny capacitor near the main chip. The console powers on but no video comes out now. Anyone know if I can just solder a new cap on or is the board toast?

Nah, I actually think it's not as bad as it sounds. A missing capacitor near the main chip won't stop video from working unless it's a critical filter cap for the HDMI circuit, and chances are you can just solder a new one on if you know the value. @sagesingh probably had a different issue or maybe cooked something else with the iron, but I'd check for bridged pins on the HDMI port first before giving up on the board.

Man, I did the same thing last month and my TV just shows a black screen of shame now.
