Spent $80 on a heat gun and it melted my Xbox shell in 10 seconds
I bought a fancy heat gun meant for stripping paint to try and soften the glue on my Xbox One S's casing... figured it would work faster than a hair dryer. Ended up burning a hole right through the plastic and now the whole thing smells like a campfire. Anyone know a cheap heat gun that actually stays at the right temp for this kind of thing?

Bruh $80 for a heat gun and it melted in 10 seconds? That's rough. Did you even try the lowest setting first or just crank it to max? I feel like most heat guns have a dial or switch for temps, maybe yours just runs hot as hell no matter what. Some cheap $20 ones from Harbor Freight actually have a low airflow setting that works way better for plastic stuff. Also why not just use a hair dryer on high? Takes longer but won't turn your console into a melted mess.
