Swapped thermal paste with toothpaste as a test, bad idea

Ngl, I tried the toothpaste trick on an old Xbox 360 just to see if it would last a week. It ran fine for 2 days then overheated and killed the GPU, now the console just beeps and turns off. Has anyone else ruined a board testing weird paste substitutes or did I just get unlucky?
