That dust buildup inside my PS4 was actually acting like insulation
I cracked open my launch PS4 last weekend to clean it, and I found a solid 3mm layer of dust caked around the heatsink. Turns out that dust blanket was trapping heat, not just blocking airflow, which explained why my fans were screaming nonstop. Has anyone else measured temps before and after a deep clean to see the real difference?

Nah dust is more like a blanket that traps heat, it doesn't really insulate anything since it's not stopping the metal from getting hot.

Sure, dust might not insulate, but @evannelson I'm hoping it at least hides my terrible cable management.
