The huge difference a capacitor kit made for my old Xbox 360

I finally got around to replacing the caps on my 2009 Jasper model after putting it off for a year. Before I did it, the console would randomly freeze about 20 minutes into any game. After I swapped out the six bulging caps near the CPU, it runs solid for hours without a single hiccup. The change was night and day, and honestly I was surprised such a cheap fix solved it. Has anyone else seen this big of a turnaround from just a cap replacement?

My buddy had a 360 that was doing the same thing, freezing up right as he'd get into a match of Modern Warfare 2. He was about to toss it in the trash and buy a new one on eBay. I told him to just try the caps first since it was cheap and easy. He dragged his feet for months, finally did it one weekend, and now that console runs like it's brand new. He was so shocked he called me up just to say "dude, you were right" which he never admits. He still uses it to this day for old games and it hasn't frozen once since that fix.

Is it just me or is it ALWAYS the simplest stuff that ends up being the fix? Seems like in so many things from electronics to even my car, the biggest headaches come from the cheapest parts failing.
