Hit 1,000 shots on a $20 scale, and it changed my whole routine
I finally counted my pulls on my knockoff kitchen scale, mostly out of boredom, and realized I've made over a thousand espresso shots on this thing after a year in Austin. It drifts about 0.3 grams sometimes but never enough to ruin a shot, so I stopped worrying about buying a fancy one. Has anyone else hit a random milestone like that and just... kept going with the cheap gear?

so you track the drift or just eyeball it? cause 0.3 grams sounds small but on a 20 dollar scale that might be the difference between a good shot and a sour one half the time. i got one of those cheap ones and it went wild after six months, had to recalibrate it with a nickel every few weeks. how do you know it's not messing with your ratios more than you think?
