Just realized I was tamping way too hard for years
Bought a cheap pressure gauge off Amazon for $12 and found out I was tamping at like 40 pounds when my machine only needs 15. A buddy at a shop in Portland mentioned the sweet spot is around 15-20 lbs and I thought he was joking. Now my shots don't channel and I'm not killing my wrist. Anyone else been over-torquing their tamp and getting bitter pulls?

Oh man, that's rough. I did the same thing for years before someone finally set me straight. It's amazing how much difference the right pressure makes, isn't it?

Whoa, hold up. Tire pressure matters sure, but you gotta be careful. Overinflating is just as bad as underinflating. I've seen people blow tires from running 50 psi in a car that needs 32. Check the sticker on your door jamb, that's the real number. Not the max printed on the tire sidewall.
