The $14 Turkish coffee pot that broke my grinder settings

I spent 6 weeks thinking my shots were sour because of my machine, turned out a cheap copper cezve I used for a weekend had a burr that needed reseating and threw my whole grind off by 12 clicks. Re-dialing everything back took 3 days and about 18 wasted shots. Anyone else had a random tool mess with your setup longer than the actual fix?

Honestly I see it the other way. That cezve probably wasn't the real problem, it just forced you to finally check your burr and that's a good thing. Most folks go months with a worn or loose part and blame everything else, so you actually got off easy. A clean reset and a new baseline beats chasing sour shots for another month.
