Two weeks fighting my steam wand, only to find a 10 cent fix

I spent almost 14 days trying to figure out why my shots were pulling watery and my milk was coming out flat, even after descaling twice and swapping the gasket... turns out the little tip on the steam wand had a tiny piece of old milk crust blocking one of the holes. Took a paperclip and a soak in vinegar to clear it out, but now I'm wondering if the whole 'clean the wand after every use' rule is even necessary or just a marketing thing. Do you guys actually scrub the tip daily, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. I went through almost the exact same thing last year, pulled my hair out for weeks thinking my machine was broken. Turns out it was just a tiny speck of dried milk in the steam tip, and I felt like such a fool. Now I'm obsessive about wiping the tip right after I steam, but honestly I still don't do the full deep clean every single day like some people say you should. I think as long as you give it a good purge and wipe, you're probably fine most of the time. But yeah, that crusty milk is sneaky and it will absolutely ruin your day if you let it sit.
