A retired electrician's advice on labeling wires still guides me
Last spring I was rewiring a lamp in my garage and an older neighbor, a retired electrician, wandered over to chat. He watched me fumble with a tangle of identical wires and said, "Label every single one before you touch a thing, because your memory is the worst tool you own." I now keep a roll of masking tape and a sharpie in every toolbox, but I am curious, what labeling system do you all use for your bigger projects?
