Had to choose between a $400 pre-built shed kit or building one from scratch with leftover lumber. Went with the kit.

The kit was from Tuff Shed, and it took me and a buddy two full weekends to put up. The instructions were okay, but we had to redo the roof panel alignment twice. The big win was that all the parts were there and cut to size. My scrap wood pile is mostly 2x4s from an old deck, and figuring out all the angles for a 10x8 structure would have added another week of work. Anyone have a good source for affordable shingles to finish the roof?

Yeah, that price is basically unheard of now. I got lucky and found a local hardware store clearing out last year's floor models, so it was missing some packaging but all the pieces were there. Their normal price for that size is easily triple that. Even with the roof hassle, it still beat trying to source everything myself with lumber prices being so up and down. Makes me wonder if more places will start doing those clearance sales with how slow big item sales have been.

Wait, you got a Tuff Shed kit for $400? That price seems crazy low from what I've seen around here. Their basic models usually start way higher, at least for anything that size. You must have found an amazing deal.
