Just learned my paint roller covers have a lifetime and I'm shook

Found a dusty old roller in my garage and used it for a room repaint - big mistake. Looked up the label and apparently most rollers expire after like 2 years even if unopened. Anyone else ever use ancient painting gear and regret it?

Oh man, that is such a bummer! I totally feel your pain on this one. I did the exact same thing with a roller I found under my sink that must have been there since the Obama administration. The fuzz situation was unreal, I spent like an hour picking little fibers out of the paint while it was still wet, and it still looked like a hairy mess when it dried. Had to sand the whole thing down and start over, which was a complete nightmare. So yeah, consider yourself warned, but also welcome to the club of people who learned the hard way!

Man, that's rough. So you're telling me you went to all the trouble of taping off the trim and moving furniture, only to end up with a roller that basically shed its guts all over your wall? Did you spend the next few hours picking fuzz out of the wet paint or just let it dry and sand it down? Seems like one of those lessons you only learn once, right?
