That $40 LED shop light from the big box store actually changed my mind about cheap fixtures

I built a workbench in my garage last month and grabbed a pair of those budget LED lights on a whim, figuring I'd upgrade later. Three weeks of welding and wrenching under them with zero flicker or dimming convinced me I don't need to spend triple on the fancy brands. Has anyone else found a cheap lighting option that actually holds up?

Hold up, three weeks of welding under those things? I honestly didn't expect them to last three days with that kind of abuse. My buddy tried one of those cheap fixtures in his garage and the thing started buzzing like a mad hornet after a week. I gotta hand it to you, that's pretty wild that they're handling the heat and sparks from welding without conking out. The flickering is usually what drives me nuts with the budget stuff, so zero flicker is honestly a shocker. Maybe they finally figured out how to make a half decent driver circuit for that price.

Zero flicker" from a $40 light? I'd believe it when I see it.
