Vent: Refinished my kitchen countertops and they look worse than before

I spent 3 whole weekends sanding and applying epoxy to my laminate counters in my apartment near Cleveland. Followed every YouTube tutorial step by step, even bought a $60 heat gun to get bubbles out. Now 2 weeks later, there's yellow spots forming near the sink where I guess moisture got under the seal. Has anyone else dealt with epoxy yellowing after a diy job or did I just mess up the prep work?

Could the yellowing actually be from heat damage if you got too aggressive with that heat gun? I've seen it happen where people hold the heat in one spot too long trying to chase bubbles, and the epoxy discolors underneath. Maybe check if the yellow spots are only where you spent extra time smoothing things out.

Right, because nothing says "professional finish" like cooking the epoxy with a heat gun until it turns yellow. You're making countertops, not hollandaise sauce.
