Can we talk about how pet costumes used to be just old t-shirts and felt?
I was digging through an old photo box my mom sent me and found a picture of our dog Max from 1998 dressed as a hot dog. It was literally a cut up tan t-shirt with red felt stripes hot glued on, no pattern or anything. Made me think about how these days people spend 40 bucks on a costume from the pet store, but that old shirt costume had way more personality. Does anyone still make costumes from scratch like that or is it all pre-made now?

Yeah my hot dog costume from 2001 was basically a trash bag with some yellow fabric scraps hot glued on, looked like a sad taco. I think there's something special about the homemade ones even if they look goofy, they've got heart that the store bought stuff just can't match. Your mileage may vary but I'd take a crooked felt hot dog over a perfect polyester one any day.
