Cut up an old hoodie for my cat costume and got a weird reaction

I had a gray hoodie with a ripped sleeve so I cut it down into a little cape for my cat Milo. He usually hates anything on him but he just sat there for like 5 minutes not moving. Then he started purring and rubbing against it which he never does with his regular harness. Has anyone else had their pet randomly love something you thought they'd hate?

Oh that is too cute. Milo sounds like he knows what he wants and that hoodie cape was it. Maybe it smelled like you and felt close and cozy like a blanket. Cats are weird like that, they hate the expensive bed you buy but love the cardboard box it came in. You probably just got lucky that the fabric and fit worked out for him. Honestly that's a win and he's got a custom look now.
