Debate: Is a hot glue gun better than fabric tape for cat costumes?

Last month I made a shark fin for my cat using fabric tape and it fell off in ten minutes. Then my friend swore by hot glue and now her cat's bumblebee costume lasted all Halloween. Which one holds up better for you.

Exactly what happened with me. I tried fabric tape for a little bee costume and my cat shook it off in five minutes flat. Hot glue holds way better and as long as you let it cool fully before putting it on the cat it's totally fine. Have you ever had any issues with the glue sticking to their fur when it gets warm?

Oh come on, hot glue is literally dangerous for cat costumes. You're putting something that melts at like 300 degrees onto fabric that's gonna touch their fur? And it gets hard and stiff so the costume won't move with them. Fabric tape is way safer because it's flexible and won't burn them if it gets too warm. Plus if your tape fell off after ten minutes you probably didn't clean the fabric right or press it down long enough. I've used fabric tape on three different cat costumes this year and none of them budged even a little. Hot glue is just asking for a trip to the vet.
