Googled cat costume ideas and found out 62% of pet costumes sold in the US are for dogs, not cats - that stat from PetSmart's 2023 report made me SO mad

Cats are way easier to dress up since they don't squirm as much, so why are we ignoring them, has anyone else noticed how hard it is to find cat-specific tutorial videos compared to dog ones?

honestly i think part of it is just that dogs are more of an "event" pet lol like people take dogs out in public more so they want them looking cute for the gram, cats are more of a homebody thing

reese_perry6 might be onto something but i think it's more about who buys the costumes. dog owners are more likely to impulse buy at the pet store checkout while cat owners order stuff online where the selection is smaller. plus half the cat costume tutorials on youtube are basically just cats being unimpressed while wearing a bow tie lol.
