Had to choose between a lion mane and a hot dog costume for my dachshund

My wiener dog Leo is long enough to be a convincing hot dog, but I worried the bun part would slip off his back. I went with the lion mane because I found a cheap fleece scarf at Goodwill for $3 and cut it into strips. It took me about an hour to hot glue the strips onto an old hoodie, and he actually kept it on for the whole Halloween block party. Has anyone tried the hot dog costume on a long dog without it sliding around?

My buddy tried the hot dog costume on his wiener and the bun ended up around his neck by the second block, so you made the right call with the lion mane.

Wait, did you say you hot glued fleece strips onto an old hoodie? I mean, not to be that person, but hot glue doesn't really hold up on fleece when you're moving around outside. I tried making a shark fin for my dog once with hot glue and fleece and it started peeling off after like ten minutes of him walking around. Maybe check if any of the strips are already coming loose after that block party? I'd probably try fabric tacky glue or just sewing a few key spots next time, just to be safe.
