Hit 50 homemade costumes for my hedgehog and it totally changed my approach

I was always against using glue on pet costumes (worried it would irritate their skin) until I made my 50th one last month for my hedgehog, Prickles. A friend showed me how nontoxic fabric glue can hold tiny hat pieces together without any sewing, and now I'm making way more creative hats for him. Anyone else hit a number that made them rethink their process?

You tested the glue on a hidden spot first, right? I did that with my first few hats and found some brands still cause irritation overnight. The trick is letting the glued pieces fully dry for 24 hours before putting them on the animal. Also try using a tiny bit less glue than you think you need - just a dab holds felt together fine and you won't get that sticky residue on their quills.

My buddy Mike was in the same boat with his guinea pig costumes. He hand-sewed every little knight helmet for like two years straight until he hit 30 costumes and just snapped. Now he uses nontoxic glue for everything from wizard hats to tiny baseball caps and says the pig doesn't care at all. His hands sure appreciate the break though.
