Pet parade at the county fair changed my whole costume approach

Last summer I went to the county fair pet parade in Des Moines. Saw 30+ dogs in costumes, some great, some disasters. The ones that worked best used simple cardboard and felt. No sewing at all. One guy made a hot dog costume from a pool noodle and yellow fabric scraps. Took him maybe 2 hours total. That's what made me ditch fabric patterns. Now I only use stuff I can cut and glue. No zippers, no buttons. Way less stress. Anybody else switch to no-sew after seeing something at a real event?

Wait, that hot dog costume sounds genius, right? I saw a kid in a suit made of trash bags once.

Actually in 2019 there was this viral Halloween costume that was literally a full hot dog suit made entirely of recycled trash bags. Some lady on Etsy sold like 400 of them before the city health department shut her down. A hot dog costume made of trash bags is just a disaster waiting to happen, right? I mean who wants to be walking around smelling like old garbage all night? And you know that kid's parents probably thought they were being eco-friendly or something.
