That tip about using flexible craft wire inside dog costume ears was a total game changer.

My corgi's shark fin kept flopping over during a parade last October until a lady at the dog park told me to thread a 20-gauge wire through the seam, and now it stands up straight every time, has anyone else had luck with that approach?

Read online that adding a small dab of hot glue over the wire ends stops them from poking out too.

I used 18-gauge wire for my pug's dragon wings last Halloween... the first set kept drooping so bad he looked more like a sad bat than a dragon. I wrapped the wire in a layer of duct tape before sliding it into the seam so it wouldn't poke through the fabric. Took about ten minutes to fix and they stayed perfectly upright through three hours of trick or treating in the wind. The wire made a huge difference compared to the cardboard stiffeners I tried before... those just got soggy from the rain.
