Took 45 minutes to get a cardboard box to stay on my cat's head

I thought making a simple knight helmet out of a cereal box would take 10 minutes tops. But my cat kept shaking it off, so I had to re-cut the chin strap hole like six times. Ended up using a spare shoelace and some tape to anchor it better. Has anyone else spent way too long on a prop that looked easy?

Question why you'd even go through all that trouble for a cat that clearly doesn't care. The thing already has a perfectly good head, why force a box on it? I've seen people spend an hour crafting a tiny crown for their dog and the dog just ate it in two seconds. Meanwhile I tossed an empty tissue box at my cat's feet and she played with it for a week without me lifting a finger. Sometimes you gotta let animals be animals instead of turning them into props for a photo op.

oh my god, my friend Sara tried making a wizard hat for her hamster out of construction paper and glue. she spent like two hours on it, measuring and cutting this tiny little cone, and the hamster just chewed through the bottom in thirty seconds flat. she had to start over with cardstock and hot glue, and even then the little dude just waddled around with it sideways, looking all grumpy. it's always the cute low effort projects that turn into a full on craft disaster lmao.
