Took me 3 hours to get my cat into a hot dog costume

I bought the pattern online thinking it would be a quick 20 minute project. Turned out the velcro kept sticking to my cat's fur and she escaped twice before I even finished the hat part. Anybody else have a costume that took way longer than the instructions said?

Honestly, @price.jake sounds like they've never tried to wrestle a terrified cat into a velcro costume while also trying to thread the hat onto their head. Tbh, I spent a whole afternoon trying to fit my dog into a shark fin once and ended up just taping it to his collar instead.
