Closed terrariums vs open ones - I lost 3 plants before I figured out the difference
I started with a closed terrarium for my ferns and everything got moldy after 2 weeks, but then I tried an open one with succulents and they're thriving 3 months later. Is the humidity difference really that massive or did I just pick the wrong plants for the closed setup?

A 200ml closed terrarium with ferns can hit 99% humidity inside which is basically a rainforest for mold spores. Your succulents in an open setup are getting that dry air they NEED to survive without rotting. So yes, the humidity gap is THAT massive, you just matched the wrong plants to the wrong container type.

So would a succulent just rot in a closed terrarium then or what?
