Dropped $60 on that 'auto-misting' gadget and it flooded my moss terrarium in 3 days
Saw all those reviews raving about the battery powered mister from GreenThumb... figured it would save me time. Set it up on my 5 gallon jar with the ferns and moss. Came home from work and the bottom inch was standing water. Everything started rotting by day 4. I'm back to just using a spray bottle once a week. Has anyone else had luck with those misters or is it just a gimmick?

Threw one of those away after a week. My theory is they work okay for open air plants but in a closed terrarium you're just asking for a swamp. A spray bottle lets you control exactly where the moisture goes. Those automated things have no clue what your setup actually needs.

@terrymitchell yeah it's just like how we overcomplicate stuff with apps instead of just using common sense and a spray bottle.
