Guy at the garden center told me my drainage layer was too thin

I was showing off my new closed terrarium at the local succulent swap and this older dude said I only had half an inch of pebbles at the bottom. He explained that without at least two inches of drainage, the roots would rot in a few months. Has anyone else had to redo their whole substrate setup after getting feedback like that?

Oh man, that older guy basically saved you from a future surprise swamp terrarium. I mean, half an inch of pebbles is barely enough to annoy a plant, let alone actually drain anything. Better to redo it now than in a few months when everything's already mushy and sad.
