I finally tried skipping the false bottom in my latest build and got two totally different results.

One side says it's crucial for preventing root rot, but others claim it just takes up space. Which way do you lean?

Learn from my mistakes, folks. I once skipped the false bottom because I wanted more soil space. BIG regret. My entire batch of peppers got root rot and just gave up on life. I felt like a plant murderer, honestly. Now I always use one, even if it means a bit less room. That air gap is a LIFESAVER.

That air gap is just wasted space.

Talk about a HIGH-stakes gamble for a bit more soil space.
