My 'cool' geometric glass jar from a flea market looked amazing but killed everything inside within a month, unlike my boring old fishbowl from the thrift store that's been thriving for over a year now.

The fancy jar had zero air flow and cooked my mosses, but the simple bowl's wide opening lets just enough moisture escape to keep my tiny fern happy... anyone else have a terrarium vessel that looked great but was secretly a death trap?

Switched to a basic cookie jar after my succulents rotted in a sealed apothecary jar. The wide mouth lets the soil dry out properly, which @ivan82 is right, makes all the difference. Sometimes the simplest container is the best one.

Wide mouth is the key for succulents lol. Airflow beats fancy containers every time. Learned that the hard way myself.

That "secretly a death trap" part is so real... what else did you try putting in it?
