My uncle's cleanup crew was a colony of dermestid beetles for cleaning skulls. The weird part was finding them two floors up, munching on a forgotten bag of beef jerky in my cousin's old bedroom. It proved they can follow a scent trail through wall voids like tiny, six-legged bloodhounds. That kind of vertical escape route never even crossed my mind before. Now I'm paranoid about any clean-up crew that can track a food smell.
