That $12 bag of charcoal from the pet store actually fixed my terrarium smell issue

I was skeptical about using plain aquarium charcoal instead of the fancy $20 terrarium stuff but after 2 weeks without any musty odor in my closed jar I'm completely converted, has anyone else tried this hack or found something better?

Wait, isn't that the same thing? Like, activated charcoal is activated charcoal whether it's for a fish tank or a terrarium. I always thought the pet store stuff was the exact same material just in a different bag.

Yeah but it's kinda like how house paint and car paint are both paint but you wouldn't swap em. Same basic stuff but different grade and what they're meant to handle.
