Turns out my isopods were eating my springtails, found that out the hard way
I had a little terrarium going for about 4 months that was looking super healthy. Then last week I noticed my springtail population dropped to almost nothing. Started digging around online and found a few forum posts saying certain isopod species will actually hunt springtails if food gets scarce. I had no idea they did that. Has anyone else run into this with their cleanup crew?

Oh man, I feel your pain. I once starved my own isopods so bad they started snacking on each other. Guess we both learned the 'more food pellets' lesson the hard way.

Which isopod species were you keeping? I've heard powder blues are way more aggressive than dwarf whites when it comes to hunting springtails. Trying to figure out if it's a species thing or just a food shortage problem.
