Burned $12 on fake Command strips that peeled my paint off
I was at Dollar Tree last week and grabbed these off-brand adhesive strips for my wall frames. Looked just like the real ones, same thickness even. Put up four 8x10 frames in my living room, thought I saved like $8. Two days later I woke up to two frames on the floor and when I peeled the strips off they took chunks of my drywall paint with them. Now I gotta patch and repaint that whole corner. Has anyone found a dollar store wall hanging solution that actually works without ruining your walls?

Tried Command brand once and learned my lesson the hard way too.

Oh man, I feel your pain so much... @diana_flores25 is right, even the real Command strips can mess up your walls if you don't pull them the right way. I tried those same Dollar Tree strips last year for a small mirror and they left this sticky residue that wouldn't come off with anything. I think the cheap strips don't have that special stretchy part that lets you release them without damage. What a bummer to wake up to frames on the floor and paint chips everywhere... that drywall repair is such a headache when you just wanted to hang some pictures.
