Fool me twice with Dollar Tree epoxy resin - never again
Spent $12 on two packs of that clear epoxy from Dollar Tree to coat some coasters and it never cured right - stayed sticky for 3 weeks. Anyone else have luck with a different cheap brand for small resin projects?

Huh, that sticky mess is rough. I've had better luck with the total boat brand from hobby lobby when it's on sale, but honestly the real hack is to use a cheap gram scale to measure it. Those "eyeball it" ratios on cheap epoxy are always off, so even the cheap stuff works if you get the mix exact.

Gram scale is the way to go. Picked one up for like 15 bucks on Amazon and it paid for itself after the first batch of epoxy I didn't have to throw in the trash. The cheap stuff from the hardware store works fine as long as you measure by weight instead of volume. Those little cups they give you are never accurate and the ratios are different between brands anyway. Just tare the scale with the cup on it and pour slow until you hit the right numbers. Saves a ton of headaches.
