Spent 8 bucks on a glue gun that died after my third project

Honestly, I bought this mini glue gun at Dollar Tree for a wreath I was making for my porch, and it stopped heating up halfway through attaching the fake flowers. Took me like 45 minutes to figure out it wasn't the glue sticks but the gun itself crapping out on me. Has anyone else had a dollar store tool just give up mid-project like that?

And that cord thing is exactly what I should've checked beforehand, but honestly I was so excited to finally finish my wreath I just grabbed the cheapest option. Have you ever had one of those glue guns where the cord gets hot to the touch even when it's working fine? Because mine did that for about ten minutes before it totally gave out, and I'm wondering if that's a common warning sign or just another dollar store defect.

Oh man, that's a bummer. Dollar store tools are a total crapshoot, especially anything with a heating element. Next time just check the cord for any weird kinks or loose spots before you buy it, that's usually where they die first.
