Wish I figured out dollar store picture frames for seed starting 3 years ago instead of those fancy plastic trays from the garden center

I used to drop $12 on those flimsy green seed starting trays at Lowe's that cracked after one season, but now I grab those 8x10 frames for $1.25 each at Dollar Tree, pop out the cardboard and glass, and use the frame itself as a mini greenhouse lid with some clear wrap taped on top has anyone else repurposed dollar store frames for something totally different in their garden?

Took me a few seasons to figure that out too. I started using the glass from the frames as mini cloches over solo cups with peppers. Makes a huge difference keeping humidity in and costs almost nothing compared to those dome kits at the hardware store.

Oh my gosh, wait... you're using the glass from old picture frames for that? That is genius. I never would have thought to repurpose them that way. I've been throwing those away or leaving them at thrift stores, and here you've got a perfect little greenhouse setup. The cost thing really gets me too because those plastic dome kits are crazy expensive for what they are, just a little piece of plastic. I bet the glass holds the humidity way better than those flimsy domes anyway. That's just so clever, I'm kind of amazed I never thought of it myself.
