Heard a guy at the supply house say 'a good drafter never needs to ask for help' and I think that's a terrible way to work.

That's a toxic mindset that gets projects in trouble. Asking questions is how you catch mistakes before they're built. The best drafters I've worked with double-check details constantly, even on stuff they know. Pride just leads to expensive callbacks.

My buddy Jake had a foreman call him at 2am once about a duct run that "didn't make sense." Jake was proud of that drawing, spent weeks on it. Turns out the structural beam got moved a foot during construction, nobody told him. That 10 minute 2am phone call saved them three days of rework and a drywall crew's schedule. Pride can eat your lunch real fast on a big project.

So what happens when that guy's "perfect" drawing goes to a job site and the foreman has a question? Does he just ignore the phone call? Seems like a quick chat could save a whole lot of time and money fixing things later.
