Hot take on the whole 'digital first' drafting approach

I had my drafting software crash twice last Tuesday while working on a set of plans for a local garage addition, and it erased four hours of work both times. I ended up having to hand-draw the foundation details on grid paper just to get them done by the deadline. Has anyone else found that going back to pencil and paper saved their bacon when the tech failed?

Pencil and paper has saved me more times than I can count. Tech fails at the worst possible moments, and you just need to get the work done. There is something solid about having a physical drawing in front of you that a screen can't replace. Sorry about the crash, that kind of time loss is brutal.

@parkerkim you nailed it with the pencil and paper thing. There's just something about the feel of graphite on paper that a screen can't touch. Tech crashes at the worst times too, like when you're in the zone and BAM, everything is gone. I lost a whole day's work to a corrupted file once and never fully trusted autosave again. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways for getting real work done.
