I finally figured out why my pipe drafts kept coming back wrong
Kept getting reamed out by the foreman for pipe runs that hit columns or other lines in the ceiling grid. Turns out I was just overlaying the structural plan without checking for beam depths or ductwork drops. Anybody else have a simple layer check that saved them from redoing a whole set?

Used to think I could just eyeball that stuff and save time. Got burned real bad once, had to redo like 40% of a layout. Now I always make a separate layer for the MEP rough-ins before I even start my pipe runs, just toggling it on and off saved my butt.

Funny you mention that, I had a buddy who did the same thing on a big commercial job. He skipped the MEP layer and ended up having to cut into his fresh concrete pour to reroute everything. To this day he triple checks that toggle before he even opens his pipe tool.
