My blueprint scaling hack failed hard on a big job last Tuesday

I was using a cheap inkjet printer to blow up floor plans for a 3,000 sq ft house and the scale ended up off by 1/8 inch per foot. Had to redo the whole framing layout on site with a calculator and paper, wasted about 4 hours. Anyone else run into this with home printing tricks?

Wait, you were using an inkjet printer for blueprint scaling? I'm honestly impressed you only lost 4 hours - that 1/8 inch per foot error would have thrown off stud placement, window headers, probably the whole shebang. I'd say you got lucky you caught it before the drywall went up because that kind of cumulative error turns a 3,000 sq ft house into a mess of wonky corners. Next time I'd just go to a proper print shop, even if it costs a few bucks more.
