Pro tip: I tried a new hatch pattern for concrete in a Denver project and it got rejected

Used a custom .pat file from a forum for a textured concrete look on a foundation detail. The city reviewer flagged it, said it was too close to their standard for CMU. Had to redo six sheets. Anyone else run into issues with local jurisdictions having specific hatch requirements?

Wait, you had to redo SIX sheets over a hatch pattern? That's insane. I can't believe a city reviewer would flag a custom concrete texture as being too close to CMU (like, how?). Honestly, @phoenixh74 is right about local requirements being a maze - I had a buddy who got held up for a week because his fire escape plan had the arrow pointing the wrong direction per some obscure annex. It's wild how picky they get over little details.

That "local jurisdictions having specific requirements" thing is everywhere. My gym's paperwork is a maze of city codes just for the fire exit signs.

Fire exit sign rules make the actual fire drills look easy.
