Pro tip: That fancy laser level I doubted is now my go-to tool
I was sure my old bubble level was fine for laying out ceiling grids after 12 years in the trade. Then I borrowed a colleague's Bosch GLL 3-80 at a job site in Phoenix and lined up 10 drops in half the usual time. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a real difference in accuracy or speed?

My buddy in commercial drywall swore by his old level for years. He borrowed a laser for a big hospital corridor job and said it cut his layout time in half. Now he won't go back.

His buddy probably wasn't "won't go back" as much as "won't go back unless the laser dies." Once you've used one on a big corridor, the old bubble level feels like a step backward, sure. But saying he'd never go back is a stretch, since batteries and dust are the two things that'll put a laser on the shelf real quick.
