Rant: people who don't check their dimension strings before sending me a mark up

I had a client send me a set of redlines last week for a commercial tenant improvement and FOUR of the dimension strings didn't even add up. Like the overall length was 45 feet but the individual room dimensions added to 52. How do you miss that? I had to stop my whole drafting workflow to call him and walk through every single measurement. It cost me half a day of billable time. Has anyone else dealt with clients who just eyeball their dimensions instead of actually checking them?

You said "Are they even looking at the numbers..." and honestly that hits hard. I feel the same way when I see some of the stuff that gets posted. It's like they just guess sometimes or maybe they're in a rush and don't double check. You can spot it right away when something doesn't add up, and it makes you wonder who's actually in charge of that decision. Feels like we're the only ones paying attention to the details that actually matter.
