Spent all morning fixing a layer that shifted on a residential print

Had a 12ft print going on my usual setup in the garage and about 6 hours in the Y axis belt slipped. Woke up to a massive layer shift that ruined the whole thing. That filament was like $35 worth so I was pretty pissed. Ended up tightening the belt tensioner and printing a new bracket to hold it steady. Has anyone else had cheap belt tensioners cause issues or is it just my luck?

Is that the stock tensioner or did you upgrade to a metal one right out of the gate?

My buddy threw a rod on his stock one, so I'm paranoid now.
