That $300 laser level was a total scam for layout work
Picked up one of those self-leveling rotary lasers online last month for framing layout. The darn thing drifts after 20 minutes and the battery died at 9am on a job in Austin. Called the company, they said it's 'within tolerance' which is garbage. Has anyone else had better luck with the cheaper cross-line units or am I stuck with a tape measure and chalk line for good?

Austin heat's got your laser doing the same thing I do after 20 minutes, calling it quits.
